Following graduation, Dr. Olsen completed a competitive post-graduate naturopathic residency at Kwan Yin Healing Arts Center with Dr. Ilana Gurevich, ND, LAc, specializing in naturopathic gastroenterology and primary care.
During her clinical training, she trained in naturopathic primary care, which combines the best of conventional and naturopathic modalities to promote optimal health. She has extensive training in digestive health, women’s health, mental health, and cardiovascular health. Additionally, she has done several western herbal intensive trainings with Dr. Jillian Stansbury and Dr. Glen Nagel, and calls upon that experience when creating individualized botanical tinctures (alcohol herbal extracts) for her patients.
In addition to conventional and functional medicine diagnostics, Dr. Olsen utilizes a variety of natural modalities including diet and lifestyle counseling, western and Chinese herbs, nutritional supplements, IV nutrient therapy, ozone therapy, and other Chinese medicinal therapies including cupping, electroacupuncture, and moxa. As part of her Chinese medicine education, she did extensive trainings in 5 Element Acupuncture, Shen Hammer Pulse Diagnosis, and non-insertive Japanese acupuncture techniques. Dr. Olsen blends these modalities together to treat the whole person on all levels (mind, body, spirit) to increase quality of life and well-being.
